Preparation

    Prepare the BBQ

    1. Prepare the BBQ - the heat source should be to the sides, not in the centre. If you are using woodchips place these in the centre.
    2. Light the BBQ and replace the grill.
    3. Put a drip tray on the centre of the grill, above the woodchips

    Prepare the chicken

    1. Mix all dry ingredients.
    2. Rinse the chicken, pat dry, and then brush or spray with oil.
    3. Rub the seasoning all over the bird.
    4. Put any leftover seasoning into the cavity.
    5. Open the can.
    6. If using woodchips pour half onto them, otherwise drink half (or pour it into a glass for someone else)

    Cook

    1. Stand the can upright and slide the chicken down onto it.
    2. Place chicken upright in drip tray balanced on can.
    3. Close the BBQ lid (if it has a vent) or partially close it if not and leave to cook.
    4. Depending on the temperature cooking will take from 1 ½ - 2 hours.
