White fish in a spice-mix batter - makes a great starter for a curry

Preparation

  1. Cut the fish into pieces around 3x4x4cm
  2. Marinade the fish pieces in lemon juice for 8-10 mins
  3. Grind any whole spices
  4. Mix the spice mix and flour in a bowl
  5. Coat the fish pieces in the spice-flour mix. Only a thin layer is needed
  6. Heat the oil, ideally in a deep fryer, but 2-3cm deep in a frying pan also works
  7. Cook the fish for around 3 minutes. If using a frying pan cook for 2 mins, then turn the pieces over and cook for a further minute
  8. Serve
