I was introduced to this sauce for BBQs by my partners family who spent many years in South Africa. There wasn't a formal recipe as such so I've experimented with various things and this recipe was generally agreed to be the best.
Preparation
- Heat the oil in the pan
- Fry the onions 2-3 mins until slightly soft
- Blend the tinned tomatoes in food processor
- Add the beans and blended tomatoes to the pan
- Add all the sauces and juices
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Finely chop the herbs and add
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 mins or until BBQ meat is done.
- Stir occasionally

- 2tbsp
hendersons relish - 2tsp lime juice

- 1tbsp fresh parsley
- 1tbsp fresh oregano
- 1tbsp fresh thyme
